21′ Catamaran

Design Number: 98-211

Hull
The hull form is a 15-degree deadrise “V” asymmetrical catamaran (sometimes referred to as a tunnel-hull) which gives good performance and sea-keeping properties at all speeds and sea states. It is based on our proven hull form developed over the past 20 years for recreational & commercial vessels ranging in length between 18’ and 65’.

Available at additional cost are CNC codes for pre-cut parts.

Layout
There is a 6’ cockpit aft, wide side decks and fore deck. Main cabin provides 5’-3” headroom. An optional ‘tall’ cabin provides 5’-6”. The focs’le/cuddy cabin is fitted with a double bunk and toilet(accessed from main cabin).

Propulsion
Power is by twin 90 outboards to give a maximum speed (on trial) of 30 knots.

The fuel capacity permits a cruising range in excess of 200 miles with 10% reserve and there is provision for additional fuel to increase the range if required.

NB: Several  20’ cats of similar hull form were built in FRP. One owner fitted twin 90hp o/b engines &  ran from Bella Bella to Vancouver (approx. 260nm) in 10 hours. Other  vessels were used for pleasure, commercial, and Search and Rescue applications.
